Richard Zednik was elbowed in the face by the Boston Bruins' defence man Kyle McLaren in game number 3 on Thursday April 25th. Some say he hit him with his tricep which would make it a clean hit. I say, and many others say, that he was hit by McLaren's elbow. Zednik was uncoscius on the ice for about 5 minutes. They rushed him to the intensive care unit. Zednik suffered from a broken jaw, broken nose, broken ear, split right eyelid, bruised neck, and the 2nd worse concussion you can get. Thankfuly, the injuries are not life or career threatning. Richard Zednik was removed from the intesive care unit Friday morning. He was then released from the hospital Saturday morning and he says that he is "OK." and that he "Hopes he team will make it futher into the playoffs so that I can join them later on." Kyle McLaren says that he feels sorry that the incident ever happened and that it was a clean hit. Yah right, then maybe you should actually feel sorry that it happened, you coul've prevented it you know McLaren, but no, you just "had" to put your arm up. I thought I was watching "Smack Down" and in Smack Down they don't try to kill each other. Even more important is that Zednik could have died if his helemt had come off, for the shear force of hitting the ice would of cracked his scull and kill him instanly, fortuly, his helmet stayed on and saved his life. There is no room for that kind of action in hockey. Kyle McLaren should be suspened from the rest of the playoffs, or at least eight games. What do you think? Go to the forum and post your thoughts.
